Michael Hibberd

Michael Hibberd (born 3 January 1990) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Hibberd comes from the small town of Somerville on the Mornington Peninsula. He spent two-years playing for Frankston in the VFL before being drafted. He won the Fothergill-Round Medal in 2010 as the VFL's most promising young player.
Hibberd was drafted by Essendon with the fourth pick in the 2011 pre-season draft and made his debut in round 6, 2011 against at Etihad Stadium.
In September 2011, He pleaded guilty to assault charges in relation to a late night fight that occurred in Frankston in July 2011. He escaped conviction, but received a $2500 fine and was suspended for the remainder of the season by Essendon for a drunken attack in which he knocked a man out.
